Outstanding Loss Reserves(OSLR)-Assumed: Outstanding Loss Reserves and also known as specific Reserves. This is the Reserve maintained for a policy to cover all future expected Losses.
OSLR Recovered (ceded): This includes the OSLR maintained on the policy Reinsured.
EXAMPLES:
OSLR: An Insurance company sets aside $10,000 in OSLR for a policy that covers a
building. They expect that the building may sustain some damage in the future, and
the reserve will help cover the cost of repairs.
OSLR Recovered(ceded): The Insurance company in the previous example reinsures
the policy with another company, and the reinsurer agrees to cover $5,000 of the
outstanding loss reserves.
